Deciding to do the reboot of a franchise is always a delicate operation. Usually, you feel the need to ‘update’ characters and situations to modern tastes and styles. It runs, however, always the risk of displeasing fans or betraying the spirit of the saga.

In the case of Tomb Raider, it seemed clear, from the earliest films circulated by Crystal Dynamics, the desire to move to darker tones and mature. To make the character ‘myth’ of Lara Croft deeper, multifaceted and believable. Able to bond empathetically to the player, surpassing that front as a hero without hesitation that has often characterized.


Already at E3, the video shown to the press it seemed clear change of tone. Lara is young, at the beginning.
