Samsung Galaxy Ace 2

One of the latest handsets to be released by Samsung is the Galaxy Ace 2, sequel to the highly popular Galaxy Ace. Although this has hit the market as a mid-range smartphone, it has a lot to offer and is an affordable option which is incredibly functional and provides you with an exceptional mobile phone. The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is basically an updated version of its predecessor, the Galaxy Ace, and utilizes a dual core 800 MHz processor backed up with 768 MB of RAM with the standard 2.3 Android operating system, all of which is housed in a nice tidy 122g unit measuring 118.3 mm long, 62.2 mm wide and only 10.5 mm thick.

The handset comes with 4GB of internal storage capacity and a microSD card slot where you can boost the memory capacity u-p to 32 GB if needed. The Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery offers hours of use and is powerful enough to facilitate speed and performance for multiple applications. In regards to connectivity, the phone comes with the usual connection options Bluetooth, Micro USB, GPRS, EDGE 3G and Wi-Fi.

This average sized handset is packed with features and you will find the 3.8 inch WVGA TFT capacitive touch screen display to offer brilliant quality, better than you would expect to see on a middle of the range unit. It comes with 480 x 800p screen resolution which is quite sharp for a screen of this size, offering a 246 ppi density. With 16 million colours the screen supplies great clarity, brightness and overall picture quality. The 5 mega pixel camera located on the back of the device is complimented with a VGA front facing camera which is a great asset to use for video chatting and taking different photos. This is a great feature for an average middle line phone and just demonstrates how far ahead of its peers the Galaxy Ace 2 really is. The 2592 x 1944p camera also contains various features including face and smile recognition, digital zoom, autofocus and geo-tagging.

One of the drawbacks of this device is that it will only come with the older version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS pre-installed, though Samsung have hinted that the newer 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version will be available for update in the near future. Samsung’s TouchWiz Version 3.0 user interface will be included and you will find plenty of different software options are available for use on the Galaxy Ace 2.

This handset is a great purchase for people who are looking to buy an affordable middle of the range model which offers a great range of features and functions with high quality. This device is reliable, compact, lightweight and a great choice for anyone looking to own an Android smartphone without all the bells and whistles of the top line models. The first Samsung Galaxy Ace was a major hit last year and still remains one of the most searched for handsets on comparison websites like Best-mobile-contracts.co.uk, and the Galaxy 2 promises to be a brilliant follow on this year.
